Seventeen years after « Future Sex/Love Sounds », Justin Timberlake has just completed his new album made with Timbaland. It was the rapper and producer who announced the news to the American magazine Variety. “We just finished it and it looks great. Now it’s really up to him how and when he envisions it coming out, but it’s done and it’s coming soon,” Timbaland said in an interview.
The two artists collaborated in 2006 for the singer’s second studio album, a real global hit, which sold nearly 6.5 million copies in the United States and more than 10 million worldwide. There were notably the hits “SexyBack” or “What Goes Around Comes Around”.
Asked about the sounds of this future album, Timbaland explained that this new opus was “like “FutureSex/LoveSounds” but nothing too heavy, just what you expect from us”. « We had songs that were maybe too complicated, and we thought we wanted it to sound like the second part of ‘FutureSex’, so we made songs that would fit that, » summed up the American producer.
Born in 1981, Justin Timberlake rose to prominence with boy band NSYNC in the early 2000s, when he was in a relationship with singer Britney Spears. He then started a successful solo career in 2003 with the single “Rock Your Body”. Since then, he has continued his career in music, notably with his hit « Can’t Stop the Feeling », released in 2016, but has also distinguished himself in cinema and on television.
