The pianist and piano teacher Jacques Rouvier is the target of an investigation by the Brigade for the Protection of Minors (BPM) for acts which allegedly took place in 1999 and 2000, the Paris prosecutor’s office said on Wednesday.
According to Le Canard chainé, which revealed the existence of these investigations, a pianist filed a complaint against the septuagenarian for moral and sexual harassment, when she was a minor. The weekly also collected several testimonies against this professor.
“The question of limitation”, a period beyond which it is no longer possible to prosecute the author of an offense, “will be verified at the end of the investigation”, specified the prosecution. Jacques Rouvier, 77, who trained with Vlado Perlemuter and Pierre Sancan in particular, taught piano for 35 years at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris, then from 2006 at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the University of arts in Berlin.
The teacher had among his students Arcadi Volodos, Hélène Grimaud, David Fray and Claire-Marie Le Guay. Jacques Rouvier could not be reached on Wednesday afternoon.
